Obzor Resort. Beaches and nature: It is a popular and really pleasant small resort combining the sea with wide, comfortable beaches with the possibility of hiking and easy walks. Nearby Obzor, the rivers Dvojnica and Kamchia flow into the sea and are part of a nature reserve.
Obzor and its history. The original Greek naval base later became an important Roman fortress. In the Middle Ages there was an impregnable Bulgarian fortress Kozyak, protecting a port of great economic importance for the Bulgarian Black Sea trade in the 13th and 14th centuries. The ruins of the medieval fortress are about 3 km from today's Obzor. It also features the ruins of the Temple of Jupiter on the remains of the Roman walls.
