Rijeka itself isn't exactly a holiday resort where you'd spend a week of your seaside holiday, but it's definitely worth a stop on your way to your destination - be it Istria, the island of Krk or further south along the Croatian coast. The nearest resorts are the spa town of Opatija, 13km away, or the island of Krk, 30km away.
