There is an airport, a busy railway line and a junction of roads connecting the coast with the centre of Istria and Pula with Rijeka. It is also an important passenger port from which ships depart for Venice.

Because of the beautiful sights, tourists also make trips here from more distant resorts. There are many easily accessible Roman and medieval monuments in the city. Among them, the well-preserved amphitheatre built by the Romans stands out.

Nowadays they are either new or renovated. You don't have to worry about being cut off from the city's entertainment as there are buses to the city.
