Sveti Vlas, Bulgaria is a small cosy town on the southern coast of Bulgaria, which belongs to the Burgas region and is part of the municipality of Nessebar. The resort was granted the status of a town in 2006. However, after the opening of a sanatorium for the treatment of lung diseases, a holiday resort started to be built here. In 1963, Sveti Vlas was recognized as a climatic seaside resort, located at the crossroads of the mountains and the sea, in the northern part of the bay, directly opposite the ancient town of Nessebar, included in the list of specially protected UNESCO sites. In the central part of the bay is the well-known resort of Sunny Beach, whose northern edge flows smoothly into the first buildings of Sveti Vlas.
