The northernmost important Bulgarian seaside resort Balchik is a very nice resort over a wide bay. The buildings are in the hills above the sea and cluster around three superimposed squares connected by a main vertical street. The town itself and its surroundings are very picturesque because of the limestone cliffs and rock formations above the town. Balchik is a cheaper place compared to nearby Albena and Golden Sands, as there are many natives here. It's a normal Bulgarian town, not an outright tourist resort. Lighthouse is a pleasant course of high standard (PAR 71, length 6,105m, min HCP 36), while BlackSeaRama is picturesque, with an interesting hole philosophy (PAR 72, length 6,648m and HCP limit 28 for men and 36 for women). But the real pearl among European courses is the Thracian Cliffs resort course. Players are in for an unforgettable experience. Gary Player himself has said that it is his best course, the "Pebble Beach of Europe", and that it aspires to be one of the most beautiful courses in the world.
