Carevo is a town in southeastern Bulgaria. It lies in the Burgas region, in the municipality of Carevo, of which it is the seat. It is a famous resort on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It has over 6 000 inhabitants. In the past it was known as Michurin. The town is situated on the Black Sea coast, 70 km southeast of the city of Burgas. It lies on two peninsulas, with the older part, the Vasiliko district in the south, on the peninsula of the same name, at the end of which is Cape Kastro. To the south of the town, Mount Papija (502 m above sea level) rises from the Strandzha Mountains.
