What you may not have known about the Sunshine Coast

Sunny Beach is the largest and most popular Bulgarian resort, both among locals and tourists. It is a very lively and fast developing resort. The beach is more than 8 km long and is covered with fine and pleasant sand. Access to the water is gradual, which is good for families with smaller children. The local beaches also boast of their cleanliness. In fact, they have repeatedly been awarded the Blue Flag. The beaches have sun loungers and umbrellas. Water sports enthusiasts will find a wide variety of activities. There are also two water parks full of fun slides and water slides.

Transportation and amenities

Burgas International Airport is located 30 km from Sunny Beach. Buses also run regularly from the resort to the surrounding villages along the Black Sea coast. You can easily reach Burgas, Elenite, Sveti Vlas or Nessebar. There is, of course, a pharmacy and a clinic in the resort.

Climate and climate

Summer is moderately hot and refreshed by a cool sea breeze. Winter is mild, with almost no snow cover, and spring is exceptionally beautiful. Autumn, lasting until mid-December, is not cold at all, but pleasant and sunny.

Facts about the Sunshine Coast

More than half a century ago in 1959, the first tourist set foot on a Sunshine Coast beach. He was a citizen of the then Czechoslovakia and was from Ostrava.

Between the sea and the nearby mountain gorge, air currents are created that are unique to this area. This phenomenon is called the "rose of the winds" and is scientifically proven to have a beneficial effect on the human body.

The Sunshine Coast remains one of the few places on the Black Sea where sand dunes form naturally. More than 16 species of rare plants thrive in these dunes.

Entertainment and sights

On the Sunny Beach you can visit many cafes and restaurants with typical and delicious Bulgarian cuisine. There is also a rich nightlife full of discos and nightclubs. During the summer season you can attend concerts, festivals and other cultural events. We also recommend visiting the nearby historic town of Nessebar, which is full of historic buildings that are typical of a seaside Bulgarian town.
